Perhaps, but then, A-C was noted for making small tractors, light in weight, with a High hp/weight ratio. Let me ask you this: What did AC make in 1955 that was BIGGER than a wd-45 and was on wheels? It appears to me that the wd-45 was introduced AFTER the 60, and positioned to be a half step BIGGER than a 60. As it has a functional WEIGHT TRANSFER HITCH which a 60 or 70 do NOT, it will out pull a "drawbar" tractor. John Deere's FIRST use of a full fledged weight transfer hitch---a three point hitch- came whith the introduction of the "20" series tractors. A 620 with a 3 point hitch, and 50 hp had 6122# of pull, according to Nebraska. I'll not dispute that a WD-45 was a good value tractor for it's day---heck they still bring $500 today. Also, I imagine you can still run down to your local A-C dealer and buy a NEW tractor with the famous "Snap Coupler Hitch", because it works so well and is SOOOO effective. Just direct me to the nearest Allis Chalmers Dealer (Not AGCO-ALLIS) and I'll go check it out myself!!!
