Yes , I agree with you Joe. I thought about making my own. Buy the time I had bought the chain , etc. , I would be better off just buying a set. My recommendation is to buy good used chains , and custom fit them to your tractor tire. That is what I had done. And I'll tell you what , when it's cold , and the snow is blowing , you won't care the least that your chains are wore a little. Try plowing with out chains , and you will see what I mean. If you think you have to buy new chains , I found when shopping around that the best prices are from the tractor tire dealers , not central tractor , etc..
