Well I hope I don't start a war here. I have been trying to leave name brand oils and specific automakers out of my comments simply to avoid further argument. I am glad I did in my original re-post, otherwise this would be a real expanding portion of your original post. The dealership that I worked for just happened to be Ford, but we worked on other makes of cars becuase the dealership had a used car lot and we worked on a few other makes for our more loyal customers. The worst oil that I found to dirty up an engine after prolonged use was pennsoil. Most other oils didn't seem to be as bad as pennsoil. If I was tearing down an engine that had alot of miles on it and the customer said they always used pennsoil it was a sure bet it was going to be grimmy and guncked up inside. I always hated it becuase all parts would have to be cleaned to a shine before assembling. Spending the better part of a day cleaning parts was not fun. There were some oils that I never run across so it would be hard for me to say which ones would be second, third, and forth runners up but I know it would be hard to get worse than pennsoil. You surely know some engine mechanics, so just ask them and see if they have been paying attention to this. They will probably be able to give you some more simular info if they have been observing this kind of thing. I hope the shooting don't start. Me and Robert have some good discussion above as well as me and you down here. I just hope this don't all explode. If it does I might have to renig on entering future oil discussion. lol I am just glad to help, but not trying to cuase fights, arguments, or wars.
