There won't be any sign of one having been under the hood. It rested on the side rails, and once it's removed, it's invisible to tell there ever was one there. Not sure off hand how it was attached, as in exactly where the bolts or screws went. Aftermarket for the era I see at tractor shows in the literature vendors. I like to browse through them just to see the various old things. Aftermarket today, It runs the range of Central Tractor to Wallmart. Just about everyone has a box designed to be mounted on something, and they all will fit on a fender.
