Fair. I didn't start out in a real good place. Two years of summer drought made for poor pastures and not much third cutting. Corn was a little short. I started feeding dry hay by late July. I sold off a few cows,but didn't breed any heifers either,so they're in the feedlot. The calves are going through a round bale a day right now instead of one every other day. The ones in the finishing pen are cleaning up a bale by late on the day instead of it lasting 24 hours. I've got some stuff that got rained on. I've been dropping a bale of that in the barn late in the afternoon so they can bunt that around and eat what they will of it. Silage is holding up fairly well. Seems like in this super cold weather,they aren't cleaning up the bunk all that great,so I'm just giving them a little less.
We'll make it through one way or another,but I sure don't like scraping the bottom of the barrel.
