Hemp production seems to be growing rapidly in KY. This is the low THC version of cannabis, not recreational marijuana. Their records show 32 acres was planted in that state in 2014. Then 6700 acres planted in Ky in 2018. Now KY says they have approved 42,000 acres for planting in 2019. Farmers won't plant that much this spring, cause they do change their minds according to markets. A lot of this is going for retail CBD oil which is apparently selling extremely well everywhere. Is this a passing fad ? Do you have a niche crop around you that appears to have a good outlook for profit in 2019 or 2020 ?
