The only burial I’ve ever seen was with a wooden coffin set in the grave, dirt filled around and just over the top, then they put arched, corrugated metal over the casket and then filled the grave.
I once read on another forum where a young man was cremated, then his family and friends took his ashes, put them in a wheat drill, poured a bottle of whiskey, a case of beer, and a torn up carton of cigarettes in there with them and planted him in his favorite river bottom.
My parents have already arranged to donate their bodies to some organization. I can’t bring myself to ask them what will be done, organ and tissue donation or some type of research, but no funeral. They just want a celebration for their family and friends.
