He obviously doesn't have Medicare patients. My GP charges $150 for 15 min and the MC rate is like $65 with them paying 80% of that number and it's against the law for the Dr. to go outside the MC rate and attempt to charge you more. Wink! The remaining 20% is paid by you or your "Supplemental Ins. Co.", or you and them considering things like deductibles. Heck of a deal for older folks, a lot of whom are on fixed income and not much of that. My MC insurance comes out of my SS insurance check (both of which I paid into over my working life) and is right at $100 per month....heck of a deal.
I've thought about what they charge and what MC pays numerous times and figure it this way: Looking at their patient load, with them accepting MC, their lobby stays full. Not accepting MC it probably stays empty...just my opinion as I don't frequent those who don't accept it.
