My Deere 7810 is by far the best cold starting tractor I've ever had. It will start on the first few revolutions at 0*F. I started it once at -20*F without having it plugged in. It took a few rounds of cranking for 10 seconds and waiting for 30 seconds but it went. I hate to start them that way but it was an emergency. I usually have them plugged in if is below freezing. My 6415 has glow plugs and it will start good if I let them go through their cycle. Now the old 20 and 30 series deeres from years ago - they were a different story.
