Don't know about the 3414 but I have an IH 3616 TLB and the serial number plate is on the lower frame on the right side.
You will find there is little information available about these backhoes even when you get the serial number. I suspect that may be because relatively few were made.
If it runs well and the pump is strong I would say you did very well on the trade. My 3616 digs like a badger !! Stan(Mo)
