That is fine as long as you never have a leak around animals . As for me being old school i'll stick to my Cal. And when a leak appears i'll fix it and clean the rim . The rim rusting does not happen over night , rim rusting comes from people that just keep adding air and ignore the leaking tire over years . Yes tire valves do go bad and cause leaks and it something one should have on hand anyway and the cost won't break the bank.
