The one thing I've learned regarding any form of liability insurance, is that the carrier has no incentive to keep rates low once you've bought the policy. Carriers operate on the knowledge that they can tell you any BS they want to, and the majority of customers will believe them. It seems to run on a 3 year cycle, you get a low price the first year, a minor increase the next, and break out the vaselene every year after that if you stay with the same carrier. The odd thing is that there are plenty of carriers out there looking for your business, and they'll cut you a low rate to get your business. You need to shop every two years, but the cost saving is worth it. Things vary from state to state, but as long as you don't have claims against you, there will be plenty of carriers seeking to write your insurance.
