I think to be fair you would need to ask that same question at a compact tractor forum site & compare answers. People here at the old tractor hangout are going to of course prefer the old tractors. :) New compacts offer ease of use, saftey features, and (now) no-fuss dependablity. For that you trade one heck of a lot of depreciation. And no, they will not last as long. If money were no object, the new stuff is great. Since money matters to me, I'll depend on the old reliable. --->Paul
