About 6 weeks ago I bought a '69 Massey Ferguson 3 cylinder gas tractor with a Massey Ferguson loader. I couldn't be happier, considering what I spent. Parts seem readily available, the loader is truly handy, I'm more comfortable "tinkering" with the gas engine than I would be deisel, and it was reasonably priced. Lots of other good advice here too. Strangely, I found Dean's tip true. I bought from a dealer, and all the dealers I talked to tried to sell me bigger, more powerful, (and usually newer) machines. I stuck with my original decision though, and went with a 35 hp machine. But if I had the room I could have had more tractor for less money. I guess it's all the guys like me, moving out of the city, and not wanting to spend 30 grand or so on a smaller tractor new. If you have the space for a bigger machine, you might consider one.
