Outlawing fossil fuels is not about to happen. However the free market should be allowed to take it's course. Coal mines are still shutting down because of reduced demand. If electric cars were to become abundant we might see a phasing back of oil production, but as long as there is enough demand it will be here. But new technology will change things unless we legislate to prevent it. But the rest of the world will go on without us.
