The serial # is really the best way to go, otherwise you are just guessing at how many times it's been painted what colors, etc.

Is it a wide front? If narrow, obviously not an N series. :)

Power steering, 4 speed, 5 speed, SoS tranny, live pto/ live hydraulics?

All of the above are clues, we'd need a pretty good description (picture, really) of the sheetmetal/ markings, and all the options it has/ doesn't have.

I'm NO good at identifying it, but others can.
