A combination of the correct gear selection, weight & weight balance, drawbar height & length, tire size/inflation to convert the max amount of engine power into the greatest number of, lbs drawbar pull x ft per second. Low gear rarly worked best as bias ply tires put power to the ground most efficiently at 3 to 5 mph. Goes to show how a 100HP tractor setup properly can outwork a 125HP tractor that is not adjusted properly.
