my ford jubilee starter let me down at the worst possible time, thanks to my john deere, im still able to work around here and move snow. now the old ford has never not started, and the starter itself is probably 8 or so years old, so i took it apart, first obvious this was a broken brush spring, if i recollect it must have all 4 brushed in full contact with the armature, or it wont do anything, so i ordered a set of 4, i got to thinking it would be good to clean the guts up and lube the bushings as long as i have apart on my home office desk....my wife hasn't seen this yet...., has anybody testes the armature? with a multi meter, for continuity? it looks fine, but it wouldn't hurt to check everything out and make sure the broken spring is the only problem, the brushes themselves are probably 75% good
