ford came out with the SUPER Q cab in '83 and that was a Great Quiet and Cold cab at 105 degrees out. One could actually hear the radio,, very comfy. foam filled supports, triple layered lower glass, and 2 inches of rubber mat on the floor made these tractor as quiet as most all high quality cars. And a/c had to be turned down after an hour or so as it got TOO cold. These are aka as the flat tops..
While its predecessor, the "Q cab" was just ok... Came out May '76. A/C was taxed, but keep the cab at 85 when 100 plus out running full blower. And the radio, well you could hear about every 3rd word under power. This cab was close to my jd 4430 factory cab, but probably not equal. these are aka as the round tops.
Before that (1976) is was various aftermarket cabs. these are aka "tin cans".. what? I cant hear you.
