AGCO and Fiat have a historical connection but not much else. The connection stems from when Fiat owned the Hesston brand from the late 70's until 1991. Up until 1987 they owned both the Hesston brand as well as the factory in Hesston, KS. In 1987 CaseIH purchased half of the factory and engineering center and the new joint venture was called Hay & Forage Industries (HFI). The products produced were branded both Hesston and CaseIH and were identical except for the paint and decals. (An exception to this was the control handle used in the SP windrowers - it differed between the brands. Also, Hesston windrowers had Cummins-branded engines and the ones in CaseIH were CDC-branded but they were exactly the same.)
In 1991 AGCO purchased the Hesston brand and Fiat's half of the HFI joint venture. Part of the sale contract was that AGCO would continue to produce the 4x4 large square baler for New Holland for sale in Europe. The manufacture of these New Holland-branded balers continued until just recently. Also, Fiat retained ownership of the Hesston name in certain markets outside of North America but I don't know all the particulars of this. I do know that Massey hay equipment being exported to certain regions cannot have the HESSTON decal that the domestic models have.
When Fiat purchased CNH in 1999 the government required that they divest themselves of either the Hesston or New Holland hay tool line to prevent a monopoly. Fiat chose to keep the NH brand so they sold the CaseIH half of HFI to AGCO. At this point the Hesston facility became owned 100% by AGCO and the production of CaseIH-branded equipment ended. To fill the void AGCO closed the Independence, MO combine factory and Coldwater, OH plants and moved the production of Gleaner and Massey combines, White planters, and New Idea hay tools to Hesston.
