Stabilizer is the stuff to use to keep the gas over time. 100LL is used by a lot of old car collectors. 10% Avgas to 90% regular. With the price of 100LL being what it is, I don't think I'd want more. They tell me that 100LL has a lot more lead than the leaded auto gas used to, and that the auto gas had a lot more lead than was needed for lube. As for octaine, remember these old tractors were built for a world where most gas was probably a lot less than 87. Is using leaded gas in a tractor or old car legal? I would guess that it probably violates a BUNCH of rules, regs and laws.
