Local brick yard had an old 2u D8 cat crawler that they used to push the clay in the clay shed. They pulled the blade for repair and it was backed up on a long sloping pile of clay. Some where around 1955. I watched it sit there for years. My uncle was foreman there and one day I asked him to see what they would take for the old crawler. This was somewhere around 1978 or so. Got it bought and found the engine stuck. Finally got it to move a little with a big tire iron. Ever time I was by there I would turn it back the other way till it stopped. Took about two months but finally got it to turn full turn. One warm day went buy , removed the can from the exhaust , got in the seat and let off the clutch about half way down pulled the clutch up and she clunked twice and started. Now I am over 75 years old I can tell you how many time it did not work but that is one true story and a testament to a cat injection pump, No starting fluid and started on 25 year old fuel.
