What I was trying to say was that it is improper to blame the police officers for this accident like some of you have. I was trying to use simple logic to show why it wasn’t the officers’ responsibility. When I suggested that maybe these machines where to old or dangerous to be operated in public, it was meant as a question to incite logical conversation. I prefaced my comments by saying I wasn’t overly informed about these machines.

There was more than one person present who was familiar with the operation of the engine. If in fact the officers’ did distract the operator of the machine, why where all 4 of them distracted? It only seems logical that there should have been one person left to monitor the machine. Could it be that they wanted to argue their position rather than tend to their engine? None of knows at this point.

Some of you have gone on to cite incidents, which you feel, prove that all law enforcement is corrupt. When I have been told similar stories over the years, and checked out the facts, in every case it was proven the storyteller was lying to make himself look good or innocent. While I am sure that there are bad police officers, just as there are bad lawyers, doctors, farmers, truck drivers, I believe the bad officers are extremely few. These stories remind me that I never ever arrested an innocent man, they all swore they where innocent. Just remember that the majority of people tell their stories to their benefit.

It seems that some of you have an extreme hatred for law enforcement and authority in general. This issue has turned into yet another example of why this board has deteriorated in quality in the past year or so. When I first started visiting this board, there where some very good technical questions asked and answered. While there still are some quality questions and answers, it would seem as if they are more questions about value, year built, oil type and capacity, etc than good questions. Most of the questions asked would be very simple to answer by using a couple of books. Most of the knowledgeable users of the John Deere board are no longer answering questions, after being bullied by a select few users. I for one very seldom answer questions even when I know the answers because I have become tired of the nasty behavior of a select few bullies here. I spent about 15 years working on two cylinder J.D, tractors, and to this day I own just about every technical manual, special tool, and even a pump stand for the two cylinder diesels. I had basically given up on this board before this, but now I have.

Mr. Taylor, you win. Silly me for trying to argue logic with a person who has already proven himself to be illogical. You have driven me away from this board, but I now intend to show the national advertisers, who basically support this board that it has become a venue for small-minded people to vent their rage. How long do you guys think these companies are going to pay to advertise on a board that supports comment such as “GO AWAY PIG”
