In the 70�s had one that when cold would caugh and spit out white smoke for a few minutes and then clear up with almost no smoke. Did this from factory new to when sold. Nothing wrong with the motor
Farmer down the road had an older IH 806 and you could see the black smoke a mile away when he worked it really hard
At start up when cold some white or white blue smiike probably ok - just in burned diesel. If you see blue smoke after it�s warm probably time to rebuild
