Any US citizen who lives in a state on the border with Canada should absolutely get a Nexus pass. - Nexus gives you Pre-Check - Nexus gives you Global Entry - If you have a Nexus card, you don't need an enhanced driver's license. - At 50 bucks, Nexus is actually CHEAPER and BETTER than either Pre-Check ($85) or Global Entry ($100).
So what's the catch? For Nexus, you have to submit to an interview one of the Nexus locations, which are all on the US/Canada border. But you can schedule it months in advance at your convenience, so even that's not a problem if you regularly travel to Canada.
