Normally these pumps use leakage from the pump elements to lubricate the cam. Some suggest taping a small plug in the front cover, but make sure it does not interfere internally. Another one says adapt a hose to the drain at bottom and fill holding the flexible hose up. Put the plug back in quickly. It does not take much, but cam may last longer with 30 wt. oil than with diesel fuel. Later pumps have a fill plug in them. See pictures of a Simms minimec injection pump and use what they suggest for lubricant.
