No, it was me. I've always "pushed" the ground and thought I might get "lucky". Planted way, way too thick for dryland wheat. Got on 90 lbs of seed per acre when it should have been 60 lbs or there abouts. Lot of guys plant 45 lbs. If it would have been irrigated, it would have made 70-80 bushel? Just cannot crowd this dryland ground tho. I knew that too, but thought I could "get away" with it. :>) Oh well, I needed more hay; I sure got it now--in spades. Evenso, pulling that sickel into that field this morning was kind of tough to do. :>( Allan

Product Review: Lead Substitutes - by Mike Schordine. Lead was oriinally added to gasoline as an upper cylinder lubricant. It lubes the valves and seats. If you rebuild the motor, you could use hardened seats and valves, and unleaded fuel. But if your old tractor runs good, a simple lead substitute added to the gas is a perfectly reasonable solution. And, if you are like me, your tractor is under cover, but it sits outside. So with every temperature change, the humidity in the air collects in the fuel tank, in the form of water.
