I can see some benefit from those embarrassing trophies. Breakdowns are bad enough for the tractor owner, but they are much worst for the tractor drive organizers. A second or third driver usually has to drop out of the drive to tow the break down. The organizers have to deal with spread out groups, late arrivals at the destination and an additional road hazard for motorists. If an embarrassing trophy causes several drivers to double check that their tractors are ready and maybe leave a marginal tractor at home, then the trophy did its job. I the number of breakdowns can be cut in half or eliminated, everyone on the ride is much better off.
