Thanks db4600, Ferguson A tractor also known as a Ferguson Brown as they were built by David Brown for Harry Ferguson at their Park Gear Works in Huddersfield Yorkshire. The early tractors were fitted with 15hp Coventy Climax fire pump engines with BTH magnetos and the later tractors had a similer engine built by DB. 3 speed transmission and Fergusons reveloutionry 3 point lift with draft control with the piston pump driven off the gearbox output shaft so the lift only worked when the tractor was mooving. They made 1350 tractors till the 2 partners fell out and Harry Ferguson got on the liner Queen Mary at Southampton to go and see Henry Ford and the outcome was the Ford 9N tractor. David Brown then started building tractors at Meltham. The tractors were made from 1936 to 1939 and I have number 226 awaiting presevation. MJ
