I think 10-12 years is about the life of a modern washing machine. Naturally there will be some variance between, how many loads you do and years of washer life. My son picks up scrap Saturday mornings, front load washers are his most common item. I buy top loads, not front loads. Never could see the advantage of having to bend down to load and unload the washer, and the obvious risk of the door leaking
