I use a 5:/16 Cotter key to hold the shaft on my sickle mower on and also the shaft for my post hole digger on larger things where there might be a lot of force from turning with the pto on like a baler the cotter key might not work as well but for something that stays straight behind the tractor I like it better then the push button
