When I was a kid about 8 or 9 A rancher in our area was replacing a Ford V8 flathead on a well with a diesel engine. We were driving by ( my Dad, my uncle , my cousin and myself ) and my uncle stopped and asked him what he was going to do with the V8. He said it was just going to lay there and he could have it if he wanted it. Now mind you , this was a totally complete engine. My dad helped my uncle get the engine on his knees and my uncle duck walked the engine about 20 yards to the fence. They rolled the engine under the fence and between both of them they put it in the back of my dads 40 Ford PU. Both men were very strong.
