I worked road construction for the same company for 37 years, they ran Case skid-loaders the whole time, then bought a few Cats when they came out. They had 40 to 60 Case skid-loaders on jobs every year, there where a lot of rum heads that used and abused those machines every day. I can't say they never broke an axle, but broken axle's where never an issue. We had one that had been hauled on a boom truck and had been dropped on a big chunk of concrete when it was unloaded . It bent the bottom pan so much that it rubbed a hole in the oil pan, that one never broke an axle.
