When I bought the 1086 in January of 78, when farm commodity prices were really a roarin the list price was a little over $32,000. A 4440 was a couple hundred more. We all know about list price manipulation though. I wanted the 4440 so bad I could taste it but no Deere dealer wanted the 1800 hour 1070 Case I had to trade in. In fact one dealer flat out told me he didn’t want my Case. So in the end, for $4000 less I owned a 1086.
