If the timing is set right it should start by had real easy. Had a 40 B that was a pain to start when my buddy had it, after I acquired the tractor I went through the manual and re-timed it and checked all my gaps. The thing would start usually on the first turn of the flywheel in the summer, in the winter it still took a number of throws to get going.
But to your question, I've googled and seen many tractors of that era converted. Like the others have said swap meets, craigslist, junk yards or the classifieds would be your best bet.
