When we were expecting our firstborn, I acquired a "beeper", a pager to allow my wife to summon me from the farm if labor started. I lost it off my hip while field cultivating a field prior to planting. We tried calling it for hours, never could hear it. Weather kept us from planting right away, and Dad ran across the field with a spring harrow to break it up before seeding- he worked the pager to the surface, spotted it, and gave it back to me. Never ended up needing it.
I took a picture of my driver's license on my phone, just in case I happen to be stopped while driving without my wallet. I most likely will have my phone somewhere with me, and MIGHT get away showing that to the officer- no guarantee- but better than just remembering the number (which I do, anyway)
