Well, they can easily be distorted by stopping while too hot. You can do a compression test on the gas set-up. That may tell you if it is rings (by doing a dry and wet test)or valves. Do a compressed air test and simply listen for the leakage (unless it is enough to hear or feel through the spark plug hole without the compressed air). If it is not the piston and not the running valves....it must be the diesel running valve - or its seat ie. a cracked head. Btw I don"t have a dual fuelled engine, just considering the alternatives and how to reduce the guess-work and narrow down the diagnosis. Regards, RAB
