I don't usually comment on the environmental posts but a now retired friend of mine was an engineer with a large USA multinational chemical company and he was directly involved in plant design and implementation. The following is a quote from him: "It takes over 10 years to put a shovel in the ground to build a new plant in North America and in India or China the local construction companies ask "when do you want it in production?"" The CEOs/CFOs of these large companies always favor third world countries as labor costs are considerably less so the profits are larger and their bonuses are larger. Always about $$$ not about quality or what is good for the North American people.
