Nothing amazing but something I always think of when I'm working in the heat -
My brother Michael always helped our grandfather and uncle bale straw in the summer. They put up over 20,000 bales some years. They baled with an open 4020. One year there was a heat wave during straw season and it was around 95 every day. They built 10 or 12 wagons, so they could fill them up during the day and unload in the mornings when it was cooler. Michael helped the crew unload in the morning then headed out to take over baling. He said it was brutally hot in the field, and Grandad was walking towards him, red faced, soaked in sweat and saying something. Michael thought he was complaining or cursing the heat....nope! He was singing! No complaints, what an attitude. I think that week they bought a rollbar and canopy so you at least had shade.
Anyway, before complaining about the heat, I think of that day and keep my mouth closed.

I credit my parents for instilling a lot of good values, a respect for learning, a knowledge of various skills and a little knowledge of farming in me, amo
