It sounds like you are looking for a cause for low power and smoke. You should have no smoke in your inlet and air will not "blow out" of an intake tube so perhaps you are looking at your exhaust pipe or manifold, or at the turbo to intake manifold pipe, or maybe you are looking at the exhaust pipe between the manifold and the turbo. Anyway, yes a leak in the turbo piping will cause a power loss and could cause smoke. A picture or a description of exactly where the leak is would help a lot.
