I bought a non-running 2n Ford, two weeks ago. I had put a 6 volt battery in it and polarized it. We pull started it yesterday. The oliver amp gauge did not show anything to be happening. I checked the battery with my voltmeter and it showed that I was getting 9.6 to 10 volts of output from the generator. The battery is not in very good condition and I am sure that it is not in a fully charged state. Would that have prompted the higher output or is the third brush needing to be adjusted? If this tractor sat for a Long time, would the generator need more time to settle in and to charge at a more normal rate? I am happy that it is working. TY SDE
