I have a 2001 f-450 4x4 with the v-10 and get about 9mpg. It is a single cab with a l box on it and a 9ft dump bed. Empty weight is 10,000 lbs. It has 62,00 miles on it, and I bought it used with 52,000 on it. The only problem so far was the front wheel bearing. Starts right up at -10 below. Not the fastest thing in the world but with it loaded you don't need to be a race car driver? I live in Colorado and it is required to have commercial insurance on it. Its a little more money, so find out from your insurance company what it will cost. Is it a 4x4? Good tires? What size rims? Things are not cheap for a f-450, get it checked out before you buy. Tom

At one time I had seven restored examples which were shown and used in ploughing matches. As most restorers, I have a number of war stories I can relate on a range of topics that may help other like minded and interested people. Perhaps my first p
