So, last week the threads on the spindle for this wheel stripped and the cotter key wore out and the wheel fell off. I put it back together, added a washer behind the nut and used a heavy wire to hold the castellated nut on. Bush Hog wants $300+ for the weldment that includes the spindle shaft. I'd like to find a better solution...maybe try to find a spindle and cut the old one off and weld another in? Maybe a trailer repair parts place would have one...it might even be the same as those little four bolt hub trailers. Any other ideas?
