CNH Global (Case CE, Case/IH Ag, New Holland CE, New Holland Ag, Laverda, Kobelco, etc.) told us at school that they were trying to eliminate cut gaskets and were going to the anaerobics that cure in the absence of oxygen. I suspect the people whining on Amazon didn't prep the surfaces correctly or were using it where it was not intended, and would have had problems with RTV (silicone) as well. As the other posters I have never had a failure if used for the correct type of joint and correctly prepped and used. RTV is a shops best friend as those little stringy boogers from over use like to plug oil passages and cause lots of expensive repairs. There are several companion products for different applications. The information I'm sure is available on the web site(s) for Permatex, Loctite.
