I replaced the factory installed Firestone Steeltex tires on my '96 F250 at 93,000 miles. The Firestone Wilderness tires I put on lasted 127,000 miles, 220,000 miles total on the truck, and I picked up an imbalance, but fall/winter was coming, only 1/4 inch of tread left so replaced them with Bridgestone Dueler AT's, they have about 82,000 miles on them and will be replaced before winter.
I wish Firestone still made the Wilderness in 255-85Rx16.
I've had absolutely terrible service from Good Year tires, and terrible service from GY tire stores. I always feel like I need to hurry home and take a shower when I walk out of the store.
Had less than satisfactory service from BFG Radial All Terrain tires, and only slightly better service from Michelin tires.
I paid almost $1000 for tickets, motel rooms, parking, meals, etc for the Formula 1 Gran Prix in 2005. I watched six Bridgestone shod cars run hot laps for 200 miles while 14 Michelin shod cars were parked in the garages because of BAD TIRES. Doubt I ever buy a Michelin tire. Week after that race my new Volvo was delivered.... with Michelin tires. Dealership wouldn't swap them, so I wore them out, in about 60,000 miles. Then I put new BRIDGESTONE TIRES on it.
