I use OrthoMax granular in a spreader to kill fire ants and to kill grubs, it cuts down on armadillo and mole damage. Terro is another good one for those little black ants. It is available in granular,spray,or liquid bait. My dog ate some of the OrthoMax when I wasn’t looking and got very sick, if you have pets be very careful with pesticide and herbicide on your lawn.
