Well just to add, our old set is still fine and working ok but I haven't liked them for the stupid alarms that go off and lights stay on until you come turn it off, and they don't get my dirty jeans clean either. They were the high end Bosch front loads we got them 8 years ago. We also have them in a basement laundry/bath room. Also have a laundry chute to save a few steps, but when I built the addition on the main floor 10 years ago we made a closet with folding doors for the washer and dryer, to use them when we get old and can't climb the stairs like we used to. That time has come so what the heck, we'll have a pair on both floors for awhile, since we both take our showers in the basement anyhow.
