I have grown beans that descended from beans originally found in a clay pot in a cave in central Utah. No idea how long they had been there but it had probably been several hundred years. Anasazi beans are another example of beans that came from ancient Indian ruins. Anasazi beans are grown commercially in Dove Creek, Colorado. Check out Adobe Milling in Dove Creek. They have several different kinds of beans I've not seen in stores. I have also grown beans from gourmet cooking beans purchased from Rancho Gordo in California. Since those beans are sold as cooking beans it's a crapshoot if they will grow or not and you need to do a little research on whether they are bush or pole beans. They grew fine for me. A lot of gourmet beans are pole beans.
To answer your question I say to plant those lima beans but save some for another year in case of crop failure.
