Yes it was a experimental hydrostatic style transmission. There is a video of it on you tube, not a great video bit you can see the guy pushing the lever forward and back. I am not sure of the whole story, I am sure one of the other die hard oliver guys probably does. Anyway the engineers were developing and field testing it. I guess the tractor was destroyed and maybe any record of it. Some people say that it would have given JD a run for there money if it was actually put into production.
