Out front on my folks farm is a Colonial flag pole. Been there since the late 60s. About 20 feet tall. It is a Red cedar. All of the White wood has rotted away so it is pretty skinny looking. Have one at my place too that is from 2004. Those red cedar posts need to be pretty big so you can allow for the white wood rotting away. Just what I have found with my flag poles.
